As I prepare to walk out the door…Waterbrook News
UPDATED VERSION for those who were blocked when this was sent on Thursday. I made it to Hungary with no problem. Stephen is back in the USA, albeit with no clothes last I heard. Email from WBF may still be sketchy. Deana might still throw out some of my stuff while I’m gone.
As I prepare to walk out the door…Waterbrook News for March 27, 2014
1.     If you’ve been trying to reach any of the office staff via email…good luck. We’ve had some serious email problems for the last week and aren’t sure what emails are getting in and which ones are getting out. So, please don’t think you’re being ignored by any Waterbrook staff member. YOU’RE the one person we would never ignore.  Seriously, try sending a text message or calling. (I’m giving this message about a 27% chance of getting to anyone.)
2.     Pray for Stephen. He’s having a great week teaching at Word of Life Bible Institute in Hungary. Then pray for me. I’m flying out today (Thursday).  For those who were unclear after the announcement last week, Stephen is teaching the first half of a two week course on the Writings of Solomon. He’s covering Proverbs this week and I arrive as he departs and I’ll be teaching next week and covering Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs.  Stephen will be stopping in Florida with his return flight. Since he’ll be in Florida Sunday morning, he’ll be preaching at a church in Tampa. Please pray for this also.  (And, if there wasn’t a church that wanted him, I think he’d probably teach in Terminal B at the airport to whomever would listen.) THEN he gets to come home to see his new grandbaby! He’ll make sure he’s back because he starts our new series in Romans 4-5 on Sunday, April 6th. http://www.waterbrook.org/spring-sermon-series-justified-romans-4-5/
3.     Word on the street is it’s cool to have a new grandbaby. At least that’s the news from Stephen & Sharon Bramer, Duke & Laura Barnett, Alan & Donna Greenwood, Bob & Harriet Williams – all have new grandchildren in the last week or two. Congratulations to all on these new babies in the family!
4.     Sunday at Waterbrook – Pastor Don Moore will be preaching on the value or work. He’s been laboring over this sermon. He’s been working hard to study what scripture has to say about our work. He’s given plenty of effort to crafting a sermon that is practical. His toil will be your benefit if you’re at WBF this Sunday to hear it.  http://www.waterbrook.org/this-sunday-at-wbf-a-study-of-work/
5.     Prayerwalk:  Coming up Saturday, April 5th.  Please participate in helping us pray over our cities. If you’ve not signed up, please do so in the lobby with the lovely Mrs. Denton this weekend. More details in the newsletter.
a.     CAN YOU HELP?  Brittany Williams is coordinating the community prayerwalk (for all of Wylie, Sachse, Murphy and Lavon). She could use some help packaging maps and door hangers for the prayerwalk. We could really use some WBF help on Sunday evening, 6:30 pm at the church office. You can sign up to help at the 1 Night table Sunday morning or let Brittany know directly via email. Her email address is: moon88@verizon.net
6.     1 Night to Unite:  Coming April 18th.  If you’d like to help with any of the serving opportunities at the 1 Night event, sign up in the lobby on Sunday.  Needs are: (Parking Attendants, Usher/Greeters, Set up/Tear Down/Clean up, Medical/Security, Sales Table Attendants) http://www.waterbrook.org/1-night-to-unite-friday-april-18-2014/
7.     There’s lots more news items in the April newsletter that will be available in your Waterbrook bulletin this Sunday.
8.     THANK YOU for your very generous support for our trips to Hungary over these couple of weeks. The WBF family was so generous on Sunday with gifts after the worship services that it provided for a special meal for students both during Stephen’s week of teaching and mine. TWO weeks of treats for these international students because of your kindness. We’re making them aware these are gifts of love from their brothers and sisters at Waterbrook Bible Fellowship in Texas, USA.
There’s more, but I’m out of time and on my way. Thank you for being such a wonderful church family! I look forward to worshiping with you when I’m back in a couple weeks!
PS. Don’t let Deana throw away any of my clothes while I’m out of the country. She’s sneaky like that, so I’m counting on your to watch her!
