We were part of the Waterbrook Bible Fellowship booth at the annual safe Halloween community event. It was our first “Boo on Ballard” since our move to Texas, and it was a blast! We had thousands of kids come by the booth. The Waterbrook booth was right in the middle of Ballard Street – a great location. Thanks to the generosity of our Waterbrook family, we had between 7,000-10,000 piece of candy to give out – and it was ALL GONE by the end of the event that ran from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Robin & Gerry Lington coordinated the outreach event and handled the initial setup before leaving for the Wylie-Plano football game.

online beleggen binaire opties Lest we give the impression it was just the Denton family, we had an entire team from Waterbrook running our booth. Robin Lington was our coordinator for this event. She and husband, Gerry, were on hand early to set up the tent, table, chairs, candy, WBF cards, signage. This event was originally scheduled for Thursday night, but was moved to Friday due to rain. Friday ended up being a beautiful evening to have it, but it wreaked havoc with our scheduled workers – like the Lingtons. After setting everything up, they had to take off to see Ethan in the Plano-Wylie football game. Most of our student workers who were to be the bulk of our workers ended up with Friday night commitments. But, they were replaced by an exceptional team of Waterbrook volunteers who made the night so much fun.

Other workers included Cindy, Nick & Dean Dahlke (Dean showed up dressed as a Sear repairman – very authentic looking); also Robbie Petty (a great nerd), Linda Emmons, Larry & Vickie Heath, Jacob & Kassie Day (with an adorable ladybug Laykin). I hope I’m not forgetting anyone. Everyone was great and it was a pleasure working side by side with these amazing volunteers.

Amelia was a bunny, JJ was the black spiderman (Don’t get us started on the discussion how this was the Peter Parker “good” version of the black spiderman, and not the later Venom version of the evil spiderman without Peter Parker. It all gets very confusing.) Deana & I were Salt and Pepper.

binära optioner bdswiss Needless to say, I’ve not been at home and resting like I should. But, events like this are too fun to miss. It’s OK, because I came home and fell asleep eating a sandwich with my family for a late supper. I’m just realizing I didn’t sneak one piece of candy all night. Man, I’m losing it. Must be a cloudy head from the painkillers. JJ and Deana did a walk down the street (maybe between 50-75 different venders/groups set up on Ballard Street). JJ was a great worker at the booth, but he’s just young enough I knew he wanted to go. So, I ask him if he’d do a sweep through the booths up and down the street and bring me a report of what it was like. He got to go without being labeled a “little kid”. (Yeah, occasionally I have good parenting moments.) So, he’s got to have a pumpkin around this house somewhere with candy. Now my search begins. What will I find…?

Set up before the event. It didn't actually start until 6:00 pm, but we had families coming by starting at 5:30 pm. Bos & Marge Bosley, Norma Peyton & Amelia put some muscle into their efforts to make everything look good!
