Top 10 Reasons Wives Nag

Not ALL wives nag. MINE most certainly DOES NOT. (I love you dear. Please don’t hurt me.) Seriously, husbands everywhere could use a guide to help us understand why wives do something that seems to be like nagging, but most definately is not actually nagging.

That’s why I’m grateful for a book written by Rick Burgess and Bill “Bubba” Bussey. In, Rick and Bubba’s Guide to the Almost Nearly Perfect Marriage (Thomas Nelson 2009) these men provide a valuable guide for helping men draw back the veil of womanhood and understand what’s going on in a woman’s mind. From their book, pages 80-81, I share with you…

10. They’ve watched too many television shows for preschoolers and believe that constant repetition is the key to learning.

9. Some women simply can’t get the concept of “Don’t think out loud.”

8. Nagging is one of the few love languages a husband understands.

7. They’ve given up on asking their husbands to cuddle.

6. They know a braying animal sound will get the husband’s attention.

5. It cuts through every attempt by the husband to listen selectively.

4. Without those complaints, the husband would not know the difference between being home and being out with the guys.

3. They can’t nag their girlfriends because friends wouldn’t stand for it. And door-to-door salesmen have the freedom to move on to the next house. So who’s left? The husband.

2. It’s a test to see whether the husband will put up with it or whether he loves only the “perfect” her.

1. Nagging is one of only two ways guaranteed to get the husband to eventually see things her way.

* I hope this guide is helpful to husbands everywhere as they strive to figure out what their wives are thinking. However, I sure wouldn’t post this list anywhere your wife would see it. I also wouldn’t call the wife over to the computer to have her read this “funny” post. In fact, if she catches you reading it, your best option is to start with, “Are you as offended by this as I am?”

Just trying to help you stay out of trouble. In the words of the infamous Red Green, “We men have got to stick with each other, ’cause we’re in this thing together.”

PRIVATE MESSAGE to Deana: YOU don’t nag, never, not at all. Now that I’ve typed this list, I find it completely offensive. I’ll see what I can do about removing this post.

The most blessed husband in the world,
